Last week Google hosted its annual I/O developer conference, and a key focus of the event was the company's debut of Daydream, its new Android-powered mobile VR initiative.

As part of the full-court press to get developers on board with Daydream, a group of Google developers took to the stage to break down some of the things they'd learned from experimenting with designing VR games and experiences.

VR game developers from across the industry may appreciate these lessons, because they aren't tied to Daydream specifically.

For example, one presenter details attaching a weighted watering can to an HTC Vive wand controller to see what happens when someone actually has a physical analog for a virtual plant-watering game, while another uses a VR "dogs playing poker" game to demonstrate how you can limit bad behavior through game design.
